Last week I was actually feeling pretty good. It had me worried. Shouldn't I be more sick by now? Wasn't I more sick with Patrick? What if something is wrong? Well, Saturday hit and all my concerns were once again "flushed down the toilet" you might say. It was a long day.
That night Ryan and I had a date while Madison stayed home with Patrick. I still get excited about going out, but the thought of food really makes my stomach turn. Ryan though Olive Garden sounded good. After a couple sips of soup and a breadstick, I had my fill. Thank goodness for club soda with lemon. It is a lifesaver for me!
After our dinner out, we went on a big shopping trip to Target. How exciting! ;) We were looking at Christmas gift ideas for Patrick. We also needed something for me. A chocolate covered custurd filled doughnut. Yep, the cravings have started!
Well, they didn't exactly have what I wanted, but they did have a chocolate doughnut and some swiss cake rolls. I can't be too picky right?

Makeover
It was time for a little blogger makeover. Hope you like it! I like the larger pictures personally!
Turkey Day
Turkey day was a little different this year, but still very enjoyable. It was the first time we weren't with our parents, but Allison and kiddos proved to be very fun company.
Our day started early with Patrick "helping" to make the stuffing.

Then we took a break for a fun game of lawn mower where Patrick tells you which mower you get and then we run around the house.

Finally it was time for dinner. Sad to say we didn't get to enjoy Turkey with our feast. We took it out of the oven only to discover it had a long way to go yet in order to be ready to eat. Not sure where I went wrong there, but I guess we'll start cooking it earlier next time!

Patrick helped us make the whip cream for desert.

But thought hanging with the boys was more fun than actually eating the desert.

We enjoyed a game of scrabble to let the food settle before heading out for our mostly annual football game.

Even Patrick Played this year.
After a great game of Sorry! followed by a movie, everyone was ready for bed. Including Miss Holland!

yep, and it begins
so back to the bathroom. I was hoping something would be different with this new little one, but not yet. Warning TMI coming up!
Threw up for the first time today. I wasn't feeling as bad as I had at other times, but still I ended up there.
I have found a bit of a pattern to the morning sickness though. Right when I awake, 2ish, 5:30ish and then again right before bed. So at least most of my day is pretty good. Also if I sleep in the afternoon, I also feel much better, but that means less time photo editing and really only on the weekends.
Still breastfeeding Patrick. I'm not sure if this helps in the am, but it does keep him still so I can wake up a little more slowly while Ryan is in the shower.
When I do feel good, I am trying my hardest to spend quality time with Patrick. I've noticed he is much more clinging and not wanting to leave my side lately. He knows I don't feel well but I try to put on a fun happy face for him so we can still enjoy our time.
Telling people has been so random for us this time. We are trying to get to family and close friends, but it is a much slower process. I guess my dad spilled the beans to some family, so we better get on the ball and let people know!

Would you like cookies with that mustache?
Rachel brought over some cookie dough that we baked up for a little treat the other night. Since the kids like to be independent, we decided they could enjoy their warm treat at their own table. In no less than 2 seconds, Patrick looked like this.

Shay was too sweet and dignified to dive into her cookie with such zest.

I didn't even have a chance to react, so decided to let Patrick be until he was finished. What a mess!

We did finally clean them up so they could enjoy some time playing as well without ruining everything around them!

6 weeks
Well, today marks 6 weeks for the littlest baby bliss. How am I? Well, I gagged for the first time this morning while brushing my teeth. It is weird trying to eat breakfast as well. I am super hungry, but have no desire to eat. Hard to describe.
Of course, Patrick also needed me this morning. It is so hard to have him needing me and just wanted to crawl into a ball and go back to sleep. I have also been very tired lately. So much so during the day that I just want to close my door and rest. I know I need more sleep at night, so that is my goal, to go to sleep earlier. I am glad my photo shoots are wrapping up for the season. I just don't have the energy for them.
So far we have told some family members and are looking foward to filling in everyone else as we can. Tonight we get to see Anne, Grant and Shawna, so it will be fun to break the news.
Funny, but we just aren't as anxious this time to spill the beans. We'd rather see folks in person and share as we are able.

Hugs for Sorry
Last night Shay came over to play. I have some pictures to post later to show some of the insanity that Rachel and I allowed to happen. But that is for another post.
Shay and Patrick do pretty well together for the most part. They share the best 19&20mo olds can, they giggle at each other and do enjoy each other company(probably not as much as Rachel and I enjoy each other for sanity!) They were playing and Patrick rolled his toy into Shay and knocked her over. He looked back at her and I said "Patrick, can you say sorry?" Just then he walked over and gave Shay a great big hug. It was so sweet to watch. Good to know he is empathetic and learning some good manners (despite his poor parents!)

Women's weekend 2009
Each year my sisters, mom and I and now my niece have gotten away for a weekend.

We stay up way too late, get a little crazy.

ok, really crazy.

Eat a lot, talk a lot, shop a lot and just plain have a good time.

This year I left Mr. P home. I thought I would enjoy some blissful sleep, but when you are up giggling and talking about nothing, sleep just isn't a priority!

19 months
My monthly pictures are going downhill fast.
But at least P is still cute and fun as ever!
Patrick seems to learn a new word each day now. I can hardly keep track of them all. He is using others on a more consist ant basis as well. Help Please, Water, Upee, MAMAMAMAMMA!, Kitty, outside, other side, A-bah (banana), apple, sit down and many more than I can list
He is so stinkin cute! I know that is a given, but his giggles just crack us up. He has some games that he really likes to play lately. One is that he will crawl up on the chair and throw the remotes off. When I say "hey!" he giggles and laughs so hard and then climbs off and does it all over again. He also loves to play No more monkeys where he jumps on the ottoman and then falls down.
He is still a huge fan of any cords and now says "cord". These are especially fun lately with the kitty who likes to chase his cords. Sometimes he doesn't want to share though and gets a little frustrated with kitty for trying to share. He also loves his lawn mowers. Yes, he now has two and will push them all over the house.
Bedtime is so fun now. I never thought I would say that! About 7:40 Patrick will grab my hand and start heading upstairs. We'll get baby and "B" (his blankie) and then get his jammies on. Then he'll get his sippy of milk and crawl up on our bed for stories. We usually read about 3-4 books each night. Of the books, we have to read Dimmity Duck. That is his favorite and usually asks us to read it more than once! After stories there are kisses from mom and dad and then off to rock for a short bit before laying down in his crib. without. a. peep. Love that! The last 3 nights he has slept from 8-7 or so without needing to get up for milk. He has woken up, but goes back to sleep quickly. We really thought this day would never come.
In the morning his favorite thing now is to walk to the cupboard and get out the rice krispies. We pour him a bowl with milk and he'll sit in his seat and eat almost the whole bowl with a spoon. He still dribbles a bit, but does very well!
He is over 25 lbs these days and mostly in 18month clothes.
He loves to help out around the house lately as well. He spilled some cheerios the other day and went and got the dust pan to clean them up. He also brings his dishes to the sink when he is done eating. He also will grab the towel if he has spilled some liquid so he can clean it up. He'll put trash in the garbage and not through food on the floor anymore. Really not sure where we got this clean freak from, not a trait of Ryan or I!
We have really enjoyed watching him learn, change and grow. We are very proud of him and can't wait to see what next month brings!

No more monkeys!
Patrick's favorite game is No more monkeys! He'll grab either Ryan's or my hand and pull us over to the ottoman. Then he'll climb on and yell "no more monkeys!" (or something that sounds like that) We'll chant with him and he'll fall over when we say "bumped his head" and then laugh. It is so cute. I went to the bookstore and got the book for him yesterday. I think it may become a staple in our evening reading time (along with his all time favorite "Dimmity Duck")

The littlest Bliss
Meet the new little Bliss! No name yet, but isn't she adorable?!?

She was found as a kitten and was bottle fed until she could eat big kitty food.

She is just 6months old, cuddly, curious, playful and great around everyone!

She isn't sure about Patrick, but he likes her and she is good to him, so we are a match!

Patrick vs. the nail polish
Yeah, you read that right.
Last week I was running around trying to get ready for a photo client. I saw them pull up in their car and figured I had a minute to quickly run to the bathroom. Patrick followed like usual. As I was washing my hands, I hear a crash beside me. Patrick had gotten into my drawer and dropped my nail polish on the floor. It broke and splattered everywhere!
That same moment, my client knocks on the door. I yell for Ryan to come quickly as Patrick begins to finger paint with the nail polish on the bathroom floor!
I ran to get to my client and somehow Ryan dealt with the small disaster. Our floor isn't quite white anymore, our run didn't survive and my jean won't ever be quite the same. But all in all, Ryan did an amazing job keeping Patrick out of disaster and cleaning the floor with nail polish remover.
I'm only sad that I didn't get a photo of it all!

New little baby bliss
Today is the day I found out about you. I took a test on Monday, Nov 2 and it was negative or so I thought. Tuesday I was supposed to get my period, but no go. Since I was going out of town for work today, I figured I would try one more test to see if I could have a glass of wine with dinner. Nothing happened, no line. Funny though because as Patrick was tearing apart the bathroom and running all over the family room, I held on to that silly little test. I kept looking thinking something would change. And wouldn't you know a few minutes later it did. The faintest of little lines appeared. I really didn't believe it. Since I didn't want to say anything to daddy yet, I kept it to myself until he and Patrick left for work. After they left I wondered if I should take a digital test, just to be sure. Luckily I had a couple on hand! Watching the little hour glass seemed like forever. All of a sudden I saw it, spelled out for me. Pregnant. wow! really? after 4 months, I just wasn't sure this would happen. I couldn't wait to tell daddy but had to figure out how to tell him. I thought about getting Patrick from daycare and putting a big brother shirt on him, but then I saw the bunny. I figured the bunny could help me tell the story. Right before daddy came to pick me up and bring me to the airport, I put together a little slideshow of Patrick with the bunny holding the test in the end. Daddy didn't get it at first and it needed some explaining, but he was pretty excited once he figured it all out. Now I am sitting along in a hotel room, my first night away since first becoming a mother, thinking of doing it all over again.
