or is that 1.5 years? When do I start moving from months to years?

Well here is what is up with Mr. P.

Playing.
This kid is really quite creative. He likes to imitate anything that mom and dad do and then pretend that he is doing it. Talking on the phone, cooking, cleaning and he especially likes driving (license to come later!) Last night he was playing with his cash register and it has a little microphone thing on it. He picked it up and we typically shout something like "Peanut Butter, Aisle 6" and so he talked into it and said "blah, yada, Aisle 6". So cute!

I love when he does imaginative play. He always wants to help in the kitchen lately. This means pulling up a chair to the silverware or utensil drawers and pulling everything out so he can "organize" it for mama. Don't trust the silverware by the refrigerator. I can't verify that it is clean anymore!

Talking.
This kid is a talking maniac. We are starting to understand the clearer words now. This month he added:
Meow for kitty (17mo 10/10/09)
Roar for Bear (17mo 10/10/09)
Beep (17mo 10/03/09)
Ah-Bee *Banana*(17mo 9/30/09)
Woof (17mo 9/29/09)
Amen(17mo 9/27/09)
Hand motions to "itsy bitsy spider" (17mo)
Hi (17mo 9/28/09)
It seams like the words are coming about 1-2 week now.

Sleeping.
Yeah, this could always be better. We are pretty certain there are some teeth, but there always seem to be teeth but nothing to show for it yet. He is still up a couple times a night. Ever since we all had the flu it has been down hill. He does go down better in the evening though and almost asks to go now by waving bye-bye and putting his head down on our shoulders.
Growth.
He is growing. Last count he was up over 23lbs. Haven't had an official measurement lately. He is wearing 18mo shirts and most 18mo pants now (although we are still rolling up the bottoms on them!) His fine motor skills are great lately. He loves to put things in holes like a screw in a hole or a shape in the correct spot. He is also a master-stacker and does a great job stacking his blocks.
He is still cuddly, loving, kissable and all around fun. A lot of work too with tantrums when he doesn't get his way. We just take it in stride as best we can.
Happy 18months Mr. Patrick!
