Thanksgiving hightlights

"MOM!! DAD STUCK ME IN THE TOY BOX AGAIN!!!"

Patrick enjoyed some firsts for Thanksgiving this year.

First Turkey (ok just kidding, he didn't eat that!)
First mash potatoes (yeah he had a bite)
First second tooth (can I count that as a first??)
First hand/toe stand (you'll have to see the video for that one!)

Here is some video evidence

Patrick also enjoyed a fun game of Horsey with Aunt Allison. He can't help but laugh whenever she is around.

We enjoyed Thanksgiving on Wednesday night this year so we could celebrate with the Blazings (who were at their dad's for the actual day). We had a great feast cooked by mom and then a fun game of night football afterward to run it off. Girls against guys. I think we held our own just fine given we were even a player short.

On actual Turkey day we just hung low. Mom and Dad came over and we ate some leftovers from lunch. Then they went on a walk with Patrick and I made some peanut butter fudge. This is the same fudge that I made the night Patrick was born. I think mom was afraid to eat it thinking she may be up all night with her daughter in labor again!

How many people does it take to get one very bundled up baby out for a walk??

After fudge we got out the Christmas tree. Patrick enjoyed helping trying to pull the tree down.

It is so fun to think about sharing our first Christmas together as a family of 3!

Sleep

It seems like sleep is typically a hot topic among most new parents. Here is our version the last week or so. Last week, Patrick was very clingy and woke up crying almost 6 times each night. Most certainly that pesky second tooth along with congestion from a cold. The last two days have been very different. He has only taken 1-2 hour naps during the day and then fallen asleep for most of the evening. Last night he only slept 30min or so and then didn't got to bed until almost 10:30. Ugg. late for a sleepy mommy. The good news is that he has only woken 1-2 times and those are fairly quick. He has also slept hard, which means that I have slept hard. I could barely get up this morning as it was one of the few times I was so out of it that I even had a dream! Let's hope this long sleepy night thing lasts. Happy travels to all for Turkey day. We are staying home this year and sleeping a lot!

Dada

ok, I'll play along

Anne
tagged me. Now I have to post the 4th photo in the 4th folder on my computer. Here goes folks. I love this one actually, so I'm happy to share!

Talkin'

Patrick has been "talking" a blue streak lately. He seems to be having full conversations and signing full songs. Dada is his favorite "word". He also uses mama, gaga and baba a lot.

I love seeing his new tooth so clearly now. He is also working on another one and that one is really keeping mom and dad up at night.

Green shirt

ok, I didn't have better title. Just enjoy the pictures!

cranky baby

Patrick has been a little cranky these last few days. It started with a bit of a cough and waking every hour on Monday night. Now he is sleeping better but just clingy and whiney. We think he is cutting another tooth, but this one seems tough. Poor guy. We are looking forward to seeing our smilely happy baby again. The cough has gotten worse too, so hopefully that has peaked and he is on the mend.

On an up note, Patrick woke last night and couldn't get back to sleep around 9pm. So we just brought him in our bed and laid down next to him. He was like a little old man tossing and turning until he fell asleep. The good news is that he didn't need to nurse in order to fall asleep. At one point he rolled over onto Ryan's pillow and looked like he would just sleep there, it was so cute. All that tossing and turning made him really act old and not like the sleepy nursing baby I am used to. Must be a 7 month thing.
