Visit to SD

Wow, what a week. Patrick enjoyed his first trip to South Dakota to visit his Grandparents and Great Grandparents. He was on his best behavior and grew up so much. He started handing out smiles to the Grandma's and even attempted to roll over from his tummy to his back. He also found his fist and remembered that he could get it back into his mouth. What a cutie! I wish I had pictures of all, but here are a few to enjoy.

Babies, Babies everywhere!

We had a little get together yesterday with some friends. Patrick slept the whole time so missed out on all the attention from the ladies.

From left to right:
Lucy (12-25-07), Taylor (1-19-08), Shay (3-15-08), Nina (3-16-08), Patrick (4-13-08), and our newest friend Elizabeth (5-16-08)

Patrick woke up later for a couple pics of his own in his big boy jeans and sneakers!

And just so you don't think he is good all the time... ;)

Whoa Baby!

We had our reunion for our Centering group at Mayo today. Check out all the babies!

Patrick has really be using his voice lately. He has the cutest coos and ga ga's. He is also learning to grip much better. He little fingers continue to grab my shirt when he is feeding. He is just like a cute little kitten! His other talent is standing up while being balanced. He really holds his head up forever and seems to practically stand on his own.

Well, as you can hear, his is a prodigy for sure! ;)

One handed typing

Making blog entries has proved to be mighty challenging with only one hand. I finally have a moment with both hands so I can actually type.

5 weeks! I can't believe it has been 5 weeks already. So much has happened, yet my brain has a tough time remembering. I best get things down while I can.

Highlights:
Patrick continues to get better with sleeping. Here is a sample day for him:

7:30 Grunt Grunt Grunt, eat, Grunt, sleep
9:30 Grunt, Wake up, Bath time! (He is great in the tub but also doesn't mind a good wipe down. New clothes (mommies favorite part!) Patrick loves mornings. He typically is up until around noon just cooing and enjoying the day.
12:00 Eat, Sleep. Mommy can finally get something to eat and maybe even a shower if I am lucky.
2:00 Grunt, Eat, Sleep
4:00 Grunt, Eat, Sleep
6:00 Grunt, Wake up, Eat He typically wakes up during dinner. Lucky us!
7:00 Sleep
8:00 Grunt, Wake up
10:30 Eat, Sleep Yay, he is finally asleep for the night!
1:00 Grunt, Eat
4:00 Grunt, Eat

And the day starts again. We have been really lucky. He is a great kid and really just grunts a lot and coos once and a while.

5/14/08: Nana and GB say goodbye. They have been staying with us the past 4.5 weeks. We are all sad to see them go. This means Patrick may have to sit by himself once and while!

5/14/08: Shay stops by for a visit and some quick pictures.

5/16/08: Happy Birth-day to little Elizabeth. Hopefully more details to come.

5/17/08: We have a smile. I got two smiles while Patrick was looking right at me. Totally fun. I can't wait for more!

5/18/08: We are using the last of his newborn diapers. He probably should have switched earlier this week, but we are cheep and still had some left. On to big boy diapers!

Here is a picture to satisfy your Patrick cravings. I should have a fun baby post next week, just to tease you a little.

New Clothes

Patrick is finally fitting into some of his bigger clothes now. Daddy weighed him the other day and turns out he is 10lbs already! Must be the good juice he is getting.

Patrick had a trip out to Mommy's work today. So this called for a new outfit. Look at his big boy jeans (thanks to Aunt Nikki for supplying the outfit!). He sure made the ladies swoon.

Here is a new outfit from Great Grandma Hilma. He is in style in his Nike gear.

He has been grunting a lot lately. I think he is trying to find his voice. I keep reminding him not to hurt his singing voice with all the grunting, but I don't think he is listening (a fortaste of what is to come??).

3 weeks

I can't believe he is 3 weeks old already! Amazing. Things have been going well. We certainly don't have a routine yet, but he is a little more predictable. We have gotten out of the house a bit, but each time is still an adventure. I can't believe how long it takes to just get out of the house. Between changes, feeding and getting the car packed, it is amazing we have gone anywhere. I also had great expectations for getting things done while on leave. It is all I can do to get a shower in each day! Hopefully this will continue to get better. Nights are certainly tough. With Patrick waking every 2 hours or so, it is frustrating. I really need to take naps in the day to catch up.

We were able to get down to the studio this weekend. I will save the best for the announcement but here is a little taste of cuteness!
