Baby Nursery

Baby nursery is finally coming around. R and his parents will be painting this weekend and refinishing the floors. Here is the curtain that I am using for inspiration. Colors will be green, blue and tan. More pics once the room is finished.

Baby Pictures

Baby is growing and changing. Here are a couple pictures from our 20 week ultrasound today.

If I was to take a guess, I would definately say that baby has R's feet.

At the ultrasound baby clasp it's hands together and then waved at us. Baby also opened and closed its mouth and even gave us the #1 sign. Oh, baby also made us laugh when it scratched it's butt. Good to know that baby isn't modest!

19 weeks

Wow, I can't believe I am almost half way there! Baby has been movin' and shaken' and rollin' daily now. It is so fun to know that baby is with me and awake. The other day I sneezed and baby kicked me! Here is my 19 week belly.

We've got a mover!

So we are starting to take bets on what type of activity this baby is going to do when it comes out. We have already decide it will walk by day one and should be dancing by day 2. On the first ultrasound baby was so active, we hardly got a picture. During the heartbeat check, baby couldn't sit still long enough to figure out what it was. Well, this week baby made him/herself known to mom and dad.

R was reading a Curious George book to baby and me one night before bed a couple days ago. Afterward, we turned out the lights and R put his hand on my belly. Right then, baby kicked him! This was no gas this time and R felt it as well. Baby continued kicking and doing back flips a little longer so R got to feel it one more time before going to bed.

It was truelly the coolest thing. Very freaking and alien like as well, but cool none the less.

So, soccer player? runner? kickboxing instructor?

17 weeks

Well, here is my 17 week picture. You would think that being a photographer I would be much better about getting these done every week. Oh well, such is life!
I feel bigger, but the picture shows a little rounder.

I am still getting sick during the week but it has gotten better. I am also feeling lots of flutters lately. I am sure that half of them are gas, but it is better to think of the baby moving around rather than a big one brewing! ;)

My in-laws delivered my birthday present from R this past weekend. He got me a piano. Baby is going to love the plunking that I get to do now. It is very relaxing and a nice diversion from tough days. Just don't ask me to perform anything anytime soon, I am no Mozart.

Also-Happy Enagement anniversary to R today. 2 years ago today, he proposed on a cold and windy night. Funny how time flies!

Baby has a heart!

R and I got to hear the heartbeat today. A strong 166 beats per minute.

There is the old wives tale that if the HB is always above 140 then it is a girl, if it is under then it is a boy. I am sure science would say that is rubbish, but happy guessing!

Amazing changes

I am around 16 weeks. Here is what www.babycenter.com has to say about me...
How your baby's growing at 16 weeks:

At 4 1/2 inches long (head to bottom) and 3 1/2 ounces, your baby is about the size of an avocado. In the next three weeks, she'll go through a tremendous growth spurt, though, doubling her weight and adding inches to her length. Her lower limbs are much more developed now. Her head is more erect than it has been, and her eyes have moved toward the front of her head. Your baby's ears are close to their final position, too. Some of her more advanced body systems are working, including her circulatory system and urinary tract. Her heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, circulating her total blood volume through her body many times. (By the end of your pregnancy, this will increase to about 190 quarts.) The patterning of her scalp has begun, though her hair isn't recognizable yet. Although closed, her eyes are moving (slowly), and she's even started growing toenails.

Pretty amazing...
