Joys of Parenthood

A little recap of my day thus far.

3:30-5:30 pretty much up every 1/2 hour or so with Patrick
5:30 I take him and rock him in his bedroom to sleep. Try to fall asleep myself in the chair
6:30 Give up on sleep, so bring Patrick back to our room
6:45 Alarm goes off and Patrick is now sound asleep
7:00 Drag my butt out of bed finally
7:30 Ryan showers while I change Patrick's diaper
What??
No Diapers?? ugg..
Set my naked boy down and grab the new box to open for a diaper
Get a diaper and notice that my adorable son is now sitting in a huge puddle of morning pee.
7:40 Grab Patrick and throw him in the shower with Ryan to rinse off
Grab towels and try to clean up the pee
7:45 Get Patrick out of the shower, dress him for the day
7:50 Try to get myself dressed
8:00 On the bus

whew! Ryan called to tell me I also narrowly missed a gigantic poo seconds after I left. At least something good happened!

At least somebunny still loves me!

Kitchen is done!

Can it be true? With even a week to spare? Think we can call our kitchen done!

The "almost done" kitchen.

Helping dad with the new hood, the finishing touch.

A shot with the new hood.

A list of all that we did.
Installed a new refriderator, double oven range, hood and dishwasher.
Installed new countertops, a new sink and a new faucet.
Painted all the cabinets.
Installed new hardware.
and lastly, bought new curtains which will hopefully go up soon.

A huge, big, gigantic thanks to the in-laws for all their hardwork!
A big thanks to Allison and Tiffany for taking Patrick out of the action a couple times.
Another thanks to Grant for letting me vent and sharing some infinate wisdom.

Pushin'

Patrick has finally mastered the art of pushing his cars and trucks around the house. Here is some fun video of it.

Walking

Patrick took his first steps a couple of weeks ago and has been practicing his silly walk ever since. Lately he has been been more consistant about taking steps and even walking. Here is him finally caught on tape.

I never went to med school

but yet I somehow need to figure out what is best for my son. So hard some days. Patrick got home last night from care with a 102 fever. After having a yucky cold for 2.5 weeks, cutting a tooth last week, having a similar fever a couple weeks ago and a trip to the dr. last week, I am wanting my boy to just feel better. By 8:00 his fever was up to 103.7. ugg. We opted for some meds to help him feel more comfortable. This was after he just laid on my lap moaning and sleeping on and off for a couple hours. An hour later he was back to himself again. He went to sleep well and did well most of the night. About 5am, he was warm again but not hot. Fever down to 101 by the time we all got up. Decided we should call the Dr. just to be safe and they recommended bringing him in to check things out. His left ear was a little red and his throat a little red but neither are bad and his fever is totally gone. He is back to feeling better, but now we are stuck with a prescription for antibiotics that I am not sure he really needs. Ugg. it is hard to play mom, dr., wife and make all the right decisions for my babe. I am just hoping his little immune system is just getting stronger from all this.

Gearing up for 1

We are gearing up for our babies first birthday. Kitchen is still getting worked on though. Doors to hang, hardware to install, touch up paint, dishwasher install and hood install. Will it all be done this weekend?? That is the hope at least since the family will be arriving next week for the big reveal. Another order of business was birthday invites. They are currently sitting in my purse waiting for stamps... oh soon soon. Luckily we took some easter/birthday photos last week. Here is the first of many that I hope to share.

up next: baking cake for the party and shopping for supplies. oh, and cleaning... well at least the areas that folks can see!

A tutorial on photoshop

Photoshop is a great tool. You can make a drab picture into a fab picture in no time!
Just see what I did with this photos of myself and Patrick from Florida. See the original?

I am all pasty white from a long MN winter. Not to mention the extra flab from having a baby.

With just a few tweaks, this picture is transformed. I am now a stunning beauty with a tan, skinny bod. Ah yes. Photoshop. Isn't it grand?

April Fools!
You can play along too over at I ♥ faces !
