Baby Shower

Anne and Shawna threw me a shower this past weekend for friends and family. We had a blast and everything was great. They did an awesome job on the food, games and fun party favors. It was great to have everyone together and enjoying the fun things for baby!

Here is a picture with the hostesses, Anne and Shawna along with the tasty punch and yummy cupcakes.

Here is a picture of me with the sweater that my mom knit. She started it 30 years ago when she was pregnant with me! Now that is persistance.

Here is a picture with all the great things for baby. R was a big fan of the Cobber gear (our alum) and the Vikings bib.

10 years and still going strong...

...and now

10 years ago today, R and I had our first date. Neither of us can actually believe it has been 10 years. I have to say that it keeps getting better each year (especially the hair do's!). With so much to look forward to this year, I'm sure the trend will continue. We are certainly differant than we were 10 years ago, but also very much the same. Love you hon!

We had our midwife appt this morning. We are now having them every 2 weeks. HB was still in the 150's and going strong. I am measuring at 30 which is also right on target. All is looking good!

3.3 lbs!

This week, baby measures over 16 inches long. He weighs about 3.3 pounds (try carrying four navel oranges) and is heading into a growth spurt. He can turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin. He's probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up.

wow!

Old Jeans

So I decided to torture myself today. I decided to try on my old jeans. To my surprise I got them all the way up! YAY! Of course there was no zipping or buttoning, but still I felt pretty good about that. I have been trying to stay as healthy as possible with this baby. Of course the ice cream is more of a neccessity now, but still getting in the fruits and veggies. Actually my latest obsession is grapefruit. I have at least 1 a day. I heard from someone that cravings for citrus mean a girl. We'll have to see if any of these theories are right.

I have no job today. This is my one day off between old and new jobs. I found myself still thinking of the old job when I woke up this morning realizing that there were a couple things that I forgot to do. This is exactly the reason that I took this day. I am scheduled for a massage yet this morning and will be working at relaxing and doing nothing today!

Watching a birth video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_eQFJR8wM00
This is one of the funniest videos on You Tube. R and I have been seeing a few of these lately in classes. No doubt you have to have a little humor in this process!

30 Weeks

Only 10 or so weeks left! yikes! This really feels like a big milestone. I am feeling pretty good, but certainly getting more uncomfortable. I got really frustrated today just going shopping and making dinner. I just get really tired and my hips get sore. I just want to be able to do what I used to with the same ease. I suppose I should use R's support when I can. Sleeping is interesting now with my 3am bathroom runs. The hardest part is un-doing my "nest" that I have built with pillows around me. I start my new job this week. I am looking forward to it, but certainly nervous about taking something new on right now. Everyone has been very supportive so it makes everything much easier.

R hung our words in the nursery today. I love the black on the green. Notice our new lamp in the corner.
