The kitty has taken over the house

and I'm not talking about Holland. I'm talking about a fictional cat. One on tv. One that dances around with imaginary creatures in a commercial. About a week ago we decided to turn on the tv with P around to watch the Olympics (which we rarely do) There happened to be a Friskies commercial on and Patrick was immediately entranced. Since I had it recorded I was able to rewind and play a couple times.

Well we have now created a monster. He will shout "kitty!" and lead us downstairs. We have now found this on You Tube so he'll spend time watching it over and over and points and shouts "kitty!" It is sort of funny that our non-tv kid is now obsessed with a 1min commercial. Here it is for your viewing pleasure. Just make sure to shout "Kitty!" once and a while!

House of Bounce

We are going to enjoy cheaper entertainment while we can. Under 2 years, the house of bounce is free with 1 paid admission. Well, pile on the 2 year olds for the fun! Elizabeth met us out there this past weekend.

While the kids didn't do a lot of bouncing, they did enjoy a snack together and watching the action around them.

Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil. This kid just cracks me up!

A little art for ya

The last post was just a tease. I decided to edit a few pictures from last summer. Call it spring fever or whatever. These ones are from the garden last year, amazing they made it with my horrible gardening skills!

20 weeks

Well, here I am at half way this week. I really have been feeling great and just know that a time will come when I don't want to even move off the couch. My hips have started hurting a bit, but managable. I also find rolling off the bed a little tougher, but again managable. Baby kicks have been fun lately.

Ryan got to feel a lot last night. I love sharing these with him. This baby has much lighter kicks then Patrick did at this point. It will be interesting to see if they increase at all. I have gained some weight finally as I lost a little in the beginning. Seems that baby has really gone through a growth spurt because my appetite has increased as well. Next appt is April 1 but just a routine visit at this point.

I finally found some bedding for the guest room/nursery to help me to decorate the rest. Looks like it will be dark brown, green and blue. I am excited to find some things to begin decorating with including curtains, a rug and on to art for the walls. Perhaps I need to get creative with my photography a little more!

22 months

only 2 more month until 2years old! In some ways are days go by slowly, but in other ways these have been a fast 22 months!

Games
Patrick is so cute at making up little games for us all to play. Ryan goes right along with him and helps make the games even more fun. He likes to play spy man in the kitchen. He'll back up against a wall and so will Ryan then do a little spy theme song, so hilarious to watch.

Last night at dinner he pointed to various places and had us turn and look. He though it was just the funniest thing to make us do things.

He always loves a good game of tag (run mama, run!) or no more monkeys on the bed.

Eating
The kid seems to be eating everything in sight lately. Pasta is his favorite, but he prefers adult versions with lots of flavor. He's getting better at veggies too. Morning consists of cereal or pancakes and juice. He really love the cereal bars I have been snacking on so we do those for a snack. When he gets a snack he always sits at his little table. So cute. He can also now climb into his chair at the big table.

Sleeping
We made the big transition this month to the big kid bed. We made sure to plan it out for a Friday night in case we were all left tired over the weekend. It went really well though and we didn't need to worry near as much as we did. He is still waking 1-2x's per night, but a quick rock from dad usually does the trick. We do get a night once and a while with no wakings which is wonderful. He still loves his bedtime routine though so we haven't changed that up. He is funny in the mornings now and freaks us out a little by crawling into bed with us in the am.

Growing
He is still around 25lbs but has been growing taller. His pants have been getting shorter on him and he is transitioning closer to 24mo clothes. I am thinking 24mo-2T by summer.

Activities
Patrick loves to help his dad shovel. He can hardly stand it if we don't let him. I swear he'd stay out there all day with his little shovel if we didn't get too cold and come in the house. He'll ask now for his hats and mittens so he is sure to have the right equipment to shovel with. We still take trips out to the indoor play places to run him a bit. Winter sure is long though.

Responsibilities
This kid is more responsible than Ryan and I put together. He loves to sweep still and is getting better at it everyday. He throws garbage away, puts his dishes in the dishwasher, will help unload the dishwasher, cleans up spills, sweeps up crumbs and is still obsessed with his vaccum. We aren't really sure where he came from, but he may help us all out!

Learning
He has begun counting to 3 now. Thanks to Aunt Allison teaching him. He loves to pick out different objects and animals in books. He also likes to skip to his favorite pages in books (hose in "Raindrop Plop" and Nert (snort) in "Are you my mother?")

Yeah, he's a pretty cool kid. We really couldn't be more proud of him.

Updates on the Ultrasound

Well, good news back with the full report from the radiologist. Baby is in normal ranges for fluid, so unless my tummy gets smaller (not with the yummy pasta I had today!) we don't need to check on it. Placenta is low, but chances for that improving are very good. So, on with our normal, boring pregnancy!

12 years?

really? I've known Ryan for 12 years? Seems like yesterday and a lifetime ago.

This cashier boy threw some dirty rags and banana peels at me and somehow I thought it would be a good idea to go out with him? I'm still not sure who asked who out because I pretty much gave some lame excuse about having nothing to do for Valentines day. I think he felt obligated after my pathetic looks.

A nice dinner out and a stupid movie along with a rose in the am sealed the deal. I was sort of hooked on him.

Little did I know what a wonderful husband he would become. Not that I had doubts, but wow, he has exceeded my expectations.

Every time he complains about the dam# cat poop but scoops it anyway I know he does this because he loves me. He is the one who takes the stinky garbage out and even shovels the driveway while watching a toddler. Yeah, I am pretty darn lucky to have this guy.

Did I mention that he is an amazing dad too?
He starts up spy games in the kitchen, takes crying night duty and gets up early so I can sleep a little more. He'll brush his teeth 4x's a day because Patrick has asked him to and he'll find a way to turn a screaming toddler into a laughing one with a game of peek a boo or a song of row your boat.

Yeah, I'm pretty lucky this valentines day. I get to spend it with an amazing man, and a little boy who lights up our world!
