12 years?

really? I've known Ryan for 12 years? Seems like yesterday and a lifetime ago.

This cashier boy threw some dirty rags and banana peels at me and somehow I thought it would be a good idea to go out with him? I'm still not sure who asked who out because I pretty much gave some lame excuse about having nothing to do for Valentines day. I think he felt obligated after my pathetic looks.

A nice dinner out and a stupid movie along with a rose in the am sealed the deal. I was sort of hooked on him.

Little did I know what a wonderful husband he would become. Not that I had doubts, but wow, he has exceeded my expectations.

Every time he complains about the dam# cat poop but scoops it anyway I know he does this because he loves me. He is the one who takes the stinky garbage out and even shovels the driveway while watching a toddler. Yeah, I am pretty darn lucky to have this guy.

Did I mention that he is an amazing dad too?
He starts up spy games in the kitchen, takes crying night duty and gets up early so I can sleep a little more. He'll brush his teeth 4x's a day because Patrick has asked him to and he'll find a way to turn a screaming toddler into a laughing one with a game of peek a boo or a song of row your boat.

Yeah, I'm pretty lucky this valentines day. I get to spend it with an amazing man, and a little boy who lights up our world!

Patrick during the day

I'm always curious about Patrick's days. He has a whole other life that I am not a part of. Luckily our provider Tiffany takes photos to share with us!

18 weeks and big Ultrasound

Well, we had our big Ultrasound yesterday. Most everything is looking good with baby so far.

Baby was being a little stuborn so we didn't get any really good profile shots to show you. At this ultraound they check everything very closely since this can be only ultrasound in the pregnancy.

You can see all the bones most clearly in the pictures, especially the spine. They checked babies brain, heart, bladder, kidney's, stomach and bones. All anatomy looked great.

There were a couple troubling points however. The main one was my amniotic fluid. They would like to see your fluid between 5 and 20. Mine was measuring at 8. We don't have any conclusive results until the radiologist interprets the ultrasound, so it a wait and see thing. At this point in the pregnancy if the fluid is too low it could indicate issues with the kidney's or urinary tract. We are still well within good ranges though and the radiologist will just confirm.

They other issue was that my placenta is at 3cm. With a placenta lower than 2, they will not do a vaginal delivery due to the placenta being in the way. This isn't a big of an issue because the placenta can still move and will most likely move up rather than down. So, just something to note, but nothing that causes any concern at this point.

So, after all that, we still really don't know anything. Baby's heartrate was a good 153 beats per minute. We just need to wait and hear what our next steps are. It may be business as usual and a completely normal pregnancy from here on out, another ultrasound to confirm that all is good or closer monitoring. Hopefully we'll have an update shortly.

Patrick is a lucky kid, he has a lot of buddies. This video was just too cute though not to share.

oh the water!

Patrick loves water. He also loves to play in the water. He'll spend all afternoon at our kitchen sink filling up a cup, dumping it out, drinking from it and repeating this process until the kitchen and Patrick are soaked!

Kitty also loves the water and will hop over to any water source she can get to!

The tub has been funny lately. He loved the tub, but the last two nights we can't do anything to talk him into it. Hope this phase passed before he starts to grow things from his dirty hair!

17 weeks

Finally I have a new photo to post. You'd think with a studio in our home we could find the time to take a couple snapshots!

Well here we are.
17 weeks
Things are pretty uneventful right now. The biggest news is that I am starting to feel baby consistantly now. It is so fun to just feel these random movements. Next week we go in for our full work-up with Ultrasound. We have decided to have the baby with a midwife in Wabasha at the hospital there. They have a fabulous facility including tubs in every room, one room specifically designed for water birth and a large area for families to come and visit. Mayo has a closet dedicated to this, no lie! I am really hoping the tubs will be a great option for labor and then possibly the birth. When I labored at home last time I was in our tub and things went so much better there.

Ryan is most worried about the 45min drive. We'll leave much sooner than we did last time to make sure we get there in time for baby. The midwife is really fantastic. She pretty much does all the births there and all the nurses have used her as their midwife as well. They all seem so laid back and willing to let us have what we need to have the birth that we want. We really couldn't be happier.

We also began getting the babies room ready. Since we are moving the crib out of Patrick's room we are moving it into the guest room. This will now be a guest/baby room. Baby will just be with us when guests are here for now. Down the road, who knows! Of course I would like to add some color to the room, but I have to talk Ryan into it first!

If you need to compare to Patrick, here I am with him at 17weeks.
