4th of July: Part 3

Patrick really enjoyed our boatrides at the Cabin. I thought he would be a little put off having to wear his life jacket, but he never put up a fuss at all.

It is always really fun to spend time with my parents. Patrick just adores them both.

We were also lucky enough to visit with Grandma/Grandpa Bliss as well as Aunt Leah a couple of the days.

On the way there we even had a nice visit with Great-Grandma Gladys. (No photos though due to my missing camera!) She was so sweet and kept saying how she could get along with Patrick "just fine".

Playdates

I am a big fan of playdates, even if it means chasing your kids for an hour and not saying a word to the one you are there to see!

I have to say though that girls and boys are very different creatures.

Shay was great about just hanging out with her mom most of the time, where as my little boy wanted to run everywhere!

I think this is one of the only pictures that Rachel and I have of the 4 of us!

4th of July: Part 2

This past weekend was a good one for relaxing. Even with a toddler, we got in a few quiet moments.

Boat rides were the best for this. Patrick was contained and the rocking helped to soothe him. (of course a little Pepsi, didn't hurt) (kidding...kidding folks.. the can is closed!)

It is great when I can just catch a minute or two alone with my husband. It isn't always easy to stop and even just look at each other let alone connect when we are both running in circles trying to catch up with Patrick.

Vacation should be a time of renewal, and it was just that!

4th of July at the Cabin: Part 1

We are lucky to have the option to hang at the lake in the summertime. While we certainly miss the farm, the lake isn't a bad second option.

My parents claim it will take a week to put their cabin back together after just a few days with us. I really don't know what they mean? (picture taken after visiting with Nana for only 30min without us!)

Patrick enjoyed the lake, well he at least enjoyed the rake at the lake.

so much so, that he didn't want to put it down, ever. This kid loves anything large and stick-like.

He also loves rides from dad!

So the sad part of our trip? I forgot my camera on our first leg (my sister's house) so I didn't have the option to take a million pictures this time. Luckily mom and dad had a couple camera's that I confiscated for the week!

Left overs

Here are some pictures to tide you over until I get some pictures of the 4th up!

Featured!

Guess what folks... Patrick's nursery is the featured nursery this week over at Spearmint Baby! While I loved our nursery, I wasn't certain that others would as well. It is fun to share all the personal touches that we put into it. Go on over and check it out! Click the link above or the logo below.

Uh-oh

Patrick has been changing a lot lately. He is so mobile and climbing on everything!

He also does imaginative play now with his toys and kitchen things. It is so fun to see him whip up a "treat" and share with us.

He added the word bye-bye to his list of words last night. So fun to hear his sweet little voice.

Ah-Oh is a new favorite word for him. There are a lot of chances to use it and he thinks it is pretty fun to try out this new trick. One way that he has used this word is by "falling" and then saying it. He learned this after falling at the park the other day and getting quite the reaction from his Aunt Allison and Nana. Now when on soft ground (mostly) he'll fall and then look at us for a reaction and then say uh-oh. I have to admit, it is pretty cute!
