The kids have gone to this all city track meet on Tuesdays. They hold them every Tuesday. They line up in age groups and then run in heats moving to longer and longer distances. Here are some fun pictures from our evening together. Of course the Carroll's were the ones getting us there (Brett is a track coach!)
Sad week for us here. My Grandma passed away last week. I rushed home to be with my parents so it was an unexpected week away. It was a wonderful week with family though, so lots of blessings for sure! I have many more photos to sift through, but here are a few for now.
Her tree bloomed the day of the funeral, so perfect!
her amazing red barn
Annika and Patrick right before the funeral. Annika is wearing a dress Grandma made for me and also my parents
and my sister
Patrick is such a wonderful 4 year old. He is passionate about what he likes and doesn't like but will usually try anything. He is cautious but curious. He enjoys riding his big boy bike and when he is at the park he would prefer to just ride his bike. He is amazing with his little sister always encouraging her and other as well. Daycare once told us that he is different from the other kids because when they do things like wash their hands he doesn't try to be the first or the best. He is patient and waits his turn. He will also compliment others. We went to my sisters house and he told her what a good cook she was. He is just awesome like that. He is very affectionate and loves to cuddle. Our favorite time is morning when he comes in bed early to get his milk. Then fall back asleep, many times not wanting to wake(except the weekends of course!) He loves peanut butter and jelly and would prefer to just eat that everyday for every meal. He likes sweets but he is satisfied with just one cookie and doesn't beg for more. He is learning to sound out words "Pah Pah Patrick!" "P is for Patrick!" and can recognize all his letter and numbers. He likes to create and build and fix. You will find him with his play car up on a table and he is "fixin'" it with his tools. His need to be physical is exhausting at times, but he is such a better kids when he has time to just run and play hard. (makes for long winters!) He loves to jump on our bed and turn on the radio for a dance party. He has some good moves too! He is thoughtful, caring, energetic, dramatic and driven. oh and he is four!
