Busy weekend!

We had a very long and busy weekend. It started out with a birthday party for our friend Miles who turned 2 (pics soon!) Then we drove to the cities to enjoy a weekend with Nikki, Jason and their 3 kids. We stayed over night at a hotel that was connected to an indoor park. This was the perfect place for us all! The kids were so worn out from all the fun that they all slept well.

I love hanging out with Nikki's kids, they are so polite and great with Patrick

Of course, Miss Norah was just a doll. She was so content the whole time, sometimes I forgot she was around!

All the boys did a lot of running (including the big ones!)

Patrick got so tired at one point, he figured if Norah wasn't using her seat, he might as well.

One of the highlights was the weather on Sunday afternoon. We decided to just let the kids hang out outside after lunch and before the long ride home.

And after a lunch with spaghetti sauce, Patrick's white shirt didn't make it.

23 months

Wow, this is the last month of counting, then we are on to year 2! Yowza.

Vocabulary
Patrick has really taken off this this month with words. He has new words all the time and the words he used to have are much clearer. "buvle" is now sounding a lot more like "shovel" He also has strung more words together. "Kitty, daddy chair" (the kitty is on daddy's chair) Patrick is also doing a much better job at verbalizing when he is hurt or angry vs just crying. This is very helpful so that we can help him or know the right response for him.

Sleeping
Dare I say this is much better? I think sleeping all night is now the norm and not the exception. We still have wake ups, but now he can tell us if he wants water or just needs his blankets put back on. His naps are still around 2-3 hours at daycare and around 1.5 hours at home.

Singing
Patrick has been heard singing, but it is typically his own tune. When he wants us to sing, he'll shout out his requests. "Bus!" "Row,Row" "Star" "Spider" "ABC's" and we'll sing the tune. He also has favorite versus of some "The babies on the bus go..." etc.

Playing
This kid is so fun to just watch and observe. He does so well with friends. He does pretty good with sharing, helping others out, laughing and giggling. He is still such an observer. Even if they are playing games he enjoys, he'll just sit back and watch for a bit before joining in. He is also content to lead the way or just hang by himself. He is still requesting the shovel even though the snow is gone, so we got him a new ball to enjoy outside instead. We also got to the part yesterday and are hoping this will be much more consist ant now.

Loving
Patrick is so affectionate. After daycare he'll hug and kiss each kid and then wave and say "bye bye everyone!" So sweet. I love his kisses. They are the best! At night he kisses us all night night and kitty too!

Eating
I think he is growing again, because he is putting down portions that rival my growing belly. He'll also eat much more variety which is helpful. He loves pizza though and shouts "pizza" if he sees it, hears it or even spots the box.

Growing
This kid is also growing. I'm pretty sure he is taller and weighs more maybe 26-27lbs? We'll know for sure next month. He is growing out of his 18mo pants and just starting to get into his 24mo ones. 2T shirts are still big, but that is what we are going with for summer. Shorts though? gosh 18mo maybe?? His waist is just so skinny it is hard to fit him in anything that isn't adjustable or snug. We just put on his new shoes that I bought a while back. They are 7's. Up from the 6's he was wearing. I assume he'll be in 8's by fall though.

Yeah, we are lucky parents as he is a great kid to have around. We love to see him learn, grow and change. Yesterday, he finally correctly identified the color green, just in time for St. Patrick's day! Oh, and one more thing. The boy will now grab the stool and sit down while I take a picture. shocker! (could be the candy that sits on my work desk...)

Fun with Daddy

I got some new backdrop paper this week. Ryan and Patrick helped me set it up then they decided they needed to play on it a bit.

22 weeks

Here I am in the short stretch now. 4ish months away? That just seems too soon and I'm sure it will fly by. Updates on the littlest bliss...

I really popped this week. Everyone says it and I have to agree. I am also eating everything in site lately. Had a huge craving for shrimp and ended up at Red Lobster all by myself. mmm... good...

Baby is getting stronger. The kicks are more often and stronger as well. A couple of them have been super strong and you can certainly feel them. I am thinking I'll see them soon as well. Ryan enjoys feeling them right before bed when baby is most active.

The other day I felt baby push to one side, it was weird to feel a little head or rump or something.

I have been feeling great. This week has been better with the hip pain. I am getting a little more uncomfortable sleeping (could be Patrick crawling on me for a 4am wakeup call!)
IMG_0287

We got a couple things ready for the baby/guest room. Found bedding for the guest bed and some tubs for the changing table. Last night I even picked up a couple going home outfits. One for a girl and one for a boy.

They were too cute to resist. I love having something new for this baby as well.

We have most items under control that wanted to get for this baby, since we have plenty of leftovers from Patrick. Still looking at double strollers as a big item. There are so many options, it is hard to know. And I don't want to spend a fortune, so working on finding a used one that fits most of our needs. We also need a new diaper bag. Our small one fell apart right away. Thinking a backpack or small messager bag will be the way to go this time. Hands free!

well, off to enjoy some gummy's. It is my weakness lately. gummy bears, gummy worms, you name it, I want it!

Oh, need to compare to Patrick at 22 weeks? Click HERE for the post or check out this full sized version:

Yeah, certainly bigger this time!

Spring is in the air!

We are loving this warm (mid 30's) weather. I saw a guy out shoveling in shorts and a tshirt. Only in Minnesota! Patrick has really enjoyed it as well.

Fun with tools

Patrick loves to help daddy build things.
IMG_0022 IMG_0018 IMG_0020

He does have his own drill as well.
Although one really needs additional tools.
A drill, a doll and a blankie, there. All set.
