Hey there! Since my big brother and your big sister get to hang out all the time, I figured we'll be fast friends too. Just be nice, 'cause I'll be little for a while!
I heard you have lots of dark hair, I can't wait to see it for myself. Mommy says that's why your mommy had all that heart burn, must be the hair!
At 6lbs 13oz, I bet you look so tiny but huge to me! I bet your big sister Shay is super excited too. I'll tell Patrick, he loves babies.
Looking forward to lots of walking and playdates. Welcome to the world Alyssa!

Baby names??
ok, here is a list. I'll warn you, this is very rough and subject to lots of changes. This baby is tougher to name for some reason. There just seem to be so many options and I'm not fired up about any of them. Also Ryan and I look and look, but we have yet to really nail a list down. So, take this with a big grain of salt!
Girls:
Sonja
Cailyn
Samantha
Rachel
Boys:
Alexander
Samuel
Carter
Ethan
Middle names: Purtelle or Christine for a girll; Paul, Ryan or David for a boy
and if you want to play along... scroll way down and vote for your favorite!

2 year update
whew... 2years. First off, happy day little guy!

What has Patrick been up to lately?
I think we hit the terrible twos right around 20-23 mo. Now most all his teeth are in and life seems to be a bit easier (well this week at least!)

Talking
This is the biggest stride lately. He has been putting words together, even saying full sentences. We still can't understand a lot of what he is saying, but it is getting easier. "Mommy, daddy? More crackers please?" "Mommy, Daddy! Birdy, Tree!" He always make sure to tell each of us the same thing and will continue until we acknowledge that he has been heard. This past weekend, he used the word "heavy" a lot, so cute while flexing his little muscles!

Singing
I love this. Love it. Love it. Patrick will sing now, sometimes with us, but also when he is alone in another room or falling asleep. Mostly ABC's. He is really good at getting through all the letters and even the ending. I have yet to capture this on video... but soon!

Running
Momma!!!! Running!!! we hear this alot. He loves to announce to us on the playground or at home that he is running.

Growing
Patrick is up to 26lbs and 33inches. He is still in some 18mo pants, 24mo pants and probably only 12-18mo shorts. Shirts? 24mo-2T. He is a little peanut, but you wouldn't know it!

Eating
His favorite foods lately are: Applesauce, Strawberries, Crackers (chips), and pizza. He does eat much better and will try more variety now. He for some reason really has a thing for Arby's roast beef sandwiches and Asian food. Especially Asian noodles. funny kid.

Favorite toys
We still hear "mommy, daddy, shovel?" on a daily basis. This typically can mean shovel, broom or rake once he is outside. We keep telling him the snow is gone, but I don't think he is ready to hear that yet! ;) On our walks he makes sure to point out every hose and water (gutter) at each house. If he is out of the stroller he will run to the hose in someones yard just to be close. We haven't put ours out yet for obvious reasons.

He loves to push his doll stroller around the driveway, ride his new bike a bit, and push the big stroller. When we are in the back of the house it is all about the sandbox and his new basketball hoop.
We really enjoy him and it is amazing to think we are on our third summer with him. I think we are settling in to this parenting thing, although there is always a surprise everywhere we look!
"no more pictures mama!"

Trip with Daddy
They went to an air show on Saturday.
Patrick loves "apee!" (airplanes)

Then Patrick broke out some new tools from his Gimma.

Almost 2
Patrick's new bike

And his new Basketball hoop. He saw this on our deck this morning and insisted getting out to play.
