2nd Trip to SD

Well, Ryan is finally off of work for a few months. We thought we might enjoy a little vacation to South Dakota before I had to go back to work (on Wednesday, July 16).

Here is Patrick and his Great Grandma Rois. They enjoyed meeting each other for the first time.

Hangin' with Daddy

Ryan is getting ready soon to be Mr. Mom or in this day in age, Mr. Dad. I head back to work on July 16 and Ryan is done with work in July 10. It will be fun to have some overlap to enjoy our new little family. He has been dutifully taking notes one how much Patrick eats, when he eats and sleeps and other routines that Patrick has fallen into. I am sure he will be great at home with him!

Patrick has had so many fun tricks lately. He pushes off our hands with both feet and throws himself across the blanket. He enjoys talking a bunch now and his favorite words are "ah-goo" and "gee". He has also said the occasional "gaga". (which daddy things is "dada") He is starting to grab onto things when we put them into his hands. When he is nursing he especially likes to grab onto my shirt and give it a tug. Sometimes he catches my bra and snaps it! ugg! His smiles are to die for and he really hands them out lately. Our evening walks have really been fun with Patrick looking at the leaves on the trees. This seems to be fully engaging for him and he is frustrated when we come to a patch with no trees.

We are off to a party soon to enjoy Patrick's first 4th. I think we'll skip the fireworks though, because Mommy is too scared!

Patrick is growing everyday. I can't believe that he is wearing 3-6 month clothes. It seems I am transferring the small clothes out and the big ones in each week. We have had some generous friends and family so this kid has been well outfitted. (thanks to Shawna, Emily and Sister Carrie for clothes above!). He is really expressive lately and also figuring out his "loud" cry. Ugg...that is a tough one for mommy.

Visit from Grandma and Grandpa

Grandma and Grandpa Bliss visited this weekend. Patrick has had a tough week full of crankiness, but was just an angel this weekend. I think he just wanted some new company to have as entertainment. Mommy and Daddy were sure glad he was doing better. A full week with lots of crying was enough to make mommy pull her hair out!

First Twins Game

As a father's day gift to Ryan I got our family tickets to the Twins game. It was an adventure with a 2month old, but Patrick did really well. It is nice to know we can do things out of the ordinary and make it work with our new family of 3.
